Deciduous
tree. Grows moderately to 20-25 feet with an equal
spread. Small, yellowish-green to white flowers bloom
in late spring, followed by 2" long round mahoganybrown
fruits which ripen in Sept.-Oct. Fruit is crisp,
sweet, pithy with the taste of an apple when eaten
fresh. It resembles a date when candied, glazed, dried
or canned. Requires a long hot summer. Partly selffruitful,
but better yield when pollinated by Lang. Low
chilling requirement.
